Each year during Engineer's Week the Wichita Council of Engineering Societies hosts a banquet for all the societies. The banquet consists of a social, Engineering Mini-Fair, dinner, award ceremony, and presentation.
The 2018 Banquet was held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Marriott, 9100 E. Corporate Hills Dr., Wichita, KS. Our speaker was Barry Dicker, who is the founder and President of Decent Energy, Inc. and a CESAS (Consortium for Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability) speaker. He brings a blend of local market conditions in the efficiency and renewable energy industries along with a national commercial and policy context. Mr. Dicker’s renewable energy involvement has extended for over a decade ranging from counseling in areas of technology commercialization to installation of pilot systems, to renewable energy project development. As a former transactional business lawyer, he brings additional perspectives around how the evolving path to renewables/grid integration relates to past patterns of technology and economic development. Mr. Dicker is a graduate of Hamilton College and Harvard Law School.
