Purpose
-
Established in 1989 and made up of 21 professional and technical
engineering societies, WCES has a common goal of promoting engineering
and engineering in the community. The societies pool resources to:
Provide a vehicle of communication for promotion of the engineering
professions, i.e. celebrate Engineers Week with a banquet each February.
Provide a forum for defining tasks and goals for the common benefit
of all engineering societies, i.e. collectively serve our community's
outreach programs.
Promote a general awareness of engineers and engineering to the
Wichita and South Central Kansas area, i.e., present an annual
Engineering Service Award to a member of the WCES organizations.

Outstanding Young Engineer Award requires the former and the
member to be under the age of thirty-five (35) with a maximum
of 10 years experience (post BS).
Both awards are presented at the annual Engineers Week Banquet,
hosted by the Engineering Council. Information regarding nomination
